Two Jordanian films win awards of 15th Arab-Franco Film Festival |

Amman, July 10, (Petra)--Filmmakers Fadi Hadad and Anas Balawi won awards of the15th Arab-Franco Film Festival, which on Thursday ended screening of movies contesting in this competition at Al-Hussein Cultural Center, according to its organizers and adjudication panel.
"High Heels," an 20 minute Jordanian short film written and directed by Haddad, is a first-place winner and depicts women's ambitions in a developed society.
Balawi's "Householder," ranked second, is a creative portrait of a successful father's life, reaches peak when this parental figure constitutes a stumbling obstacle crippling son to build his future.
French Ambassador to Amman Denys Gauer , who handed winners their prizes , lauded their distinguished filmmaking level and added role of this event is "key" to discover new Jordanian talents in cinema fields.
The Franco-Arab Film Festival, held from 1st to 9th of July 2009, was organized by French Embassy in Jordan, the Royal Film Commission, and the Greater Amman Municipality .
The annual event is a "unique opportunity" for Jordanians to discover movies, which never find their place on local commercial cinema theatres.
