King continues meetings..........1st add
 
Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Barbara Mikulski praised Jordan's role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II to realize peace in the region and promote stability in the Middle East, noting Jordan's efforts to extend services to around half a million Syrian refugees.

She also stressed the need to support Jordan to face economic challenges and carry out reform programs.

Congress leaders voiced keenness on promoting partnership with Jordan, noting that they understand the large burden shouldered by Jordan, as a result of the continuing influx of Syrian refugees.

They also highlighted the importance of strengthening economic and investment relations with the Kingdom, praising efforts led by the King to realize reforms, and establish peace in the region.

Head and members of the Congressional Friends of Jordan Caucus at the US House of Representatives hailed the Jordanian-US ties, noting that Jordan "is an important strategic partner for the US".

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Robert Menendez and committee members said they understand the economic hardship that Jordan experiences due to surrounding circumstances, high energy bill, and the influx of Syrian refugees.

They also underlined the importance of the international support of Jordan to extend services to the increasing number of refugees.

They also said that they valued the important role the King is playing in efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East.

Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, Director of the King’s Office Imad Fakhoury, and Jordan’s Ambassador in Washington Alia Bouran attended the meetings.
