Tourism revenues up 15.4 per cent to $1.8 billion
Amman, June 19 (Petra) -- Jordan's earning from tourism went up by 15.4 per cent standing at $1.8 billion for the January-May period of 2017, according to data released Monday by the Central Bank of Jordan.

It said the rise was due to an increase in tourists numbers by 10.5 per cent compared to the same period of 2016.

The figures showed that tourism revenue in May 2017 rose by 6.8 per cent, amounting to $371 million.

The bank said the total number of visitors increased by 3.5 per cent, reaching 420,600 visitors compared to 406,400 tourists in May 2016.
