NATO members pledge to support Jordan's NCSCM

Brussels, Dec. 6 (Petra) -- Secretary-General of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg announced on Wednesday that a number of members of the alliance pledged to support Jordan's National Centre for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) as part of NATO’s new capacity building package for the Kingdom.

Stoltenberg's remarks came at the conclusion of a NATO foreign ministers meeting in Brussels. "NATO has been working with Jordan for many years, through many activities held at the King Abdullah II Training Center for Special Forces, which comes as part of the capacity building program in Jordan," Stoltenberg said.

He hailed Jordan as a valuable partner and an oasis of stability in the Middle East, noting a number of areas of cooperation between Jordan and the alliance. Stoltenberg also commended Jordan's role in training Iraqi forces.
