Rise in temps forecast over weekend
Amman, June 14 (Petra) -- A slight rise in mercury levels is expected for the next two days, becoming around their annual average and creating moderate conditions in the hilly areas, the Badia regions and the eastern plains, while it will be relatively hot to hot in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Clouds at low altitudes are also expected with westerly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD said.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern cities will reach 30 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 18 at night. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 40 degrees and lows standing at 27, the JMD added.

Mercury levels will continue to rise on Saturday, becoming above their seasonal average and bringing relatively hot conditions in the mountainous areas and the eastern plains, while it will be hot in the Badia regions, the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea with westerly moderate winds, the department said.
