FM, Norwegian counterpart discuss ties, Mideast issues
Amman, Jan. 11 (Petra) -- Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, and his Norwegian counterpart, Borge Brende, on Wednesday, discussed efforts to revive the peace process between the Palestinians and Israelis and an upcoming peace conference in Paris next week.
Judeh underlined Norway's role in supporting Arab causes and its contributions as a major donor nation. The meeting also dealt with global efforts to combat terrorism and extremism.
Judeh highlighted burdens being borne by Jordan as a result of hosting a massive number of Syrian refugees on its territory.
The Norwegian minister emphasized that his country will continue to maintain close coordination and cooperation with Jordan on various issues and challenges facing the Middle East. He said Jordan should be supported for hosting Syrian refugees.
