| FM briefs Arab, foreign ambassadors on conditions at Zaatari camp | | |  | |

Mafraq, Aug. 8 (Petra)--Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Wednesday said that more than one hundred and fifty thousand Syrians fled to Jordan and urged the international community to help the government to continue providing assistance to displaced Syrians.
During a visit to Zaatari camp near Mafraq accompanied by ambassadors and charge de affaires of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Morocco, Turkey, Bahrain, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand, Judeh voiced appreciation of Arab, and friendly countries as well as international organizations in Jordan for providing support to Syrian refugees.
Jordan, he said, will continue under directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to provide assistance to Syrian refugees despite the difficult economic conditions facing the Kingdom.
The minister also hailed the role of the Jordan Armed Forces in offering humanitarian and medical aid to Syrians who arrive in the Kingdom.
Secretary General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) Ayman Mifleh presented a detailed briefing on facilities and services of the camp.
UNHCR Representative Andrew Harper highlighted the need to provide support to the Kingdom, as the growing number of refugees was placing burden on Jordan's already-stressed resources.
